It’s hard to believe, but we’re already to the part of the year where we see a mass exodus of players around the league. The Norse have already seen 2 players enter the portal, Paul Djoko and Adham Eleeda, with the possibility of a few more. The Norse do have 2 freshmen incoming, but the loss of Eleeda and Djoko still opens up two scholarships for Darrin Horn and his staff to use. So we wanted to ask you, what do you want to see coach Horn do this offseason? Norse Report is creating a wish list and will be profiling up to 5 players to feature on that list at all times - and we’re looking for your help to finish it up!
What positions/roles do you see the Norse most in need of right now?
Do you want them to target JUCO, transfers or 2021 freshmen?
Is there anyone in particular you’d like to see Horn and the Boys call up/offer?
I would love to have a grad transfer center as this team is very very undersized. I believe back to back years they were one of the smallest teams in all D1 basketball. Right now our only centers are two walk ons who I like but wouldn't want starting. Of course if I got confirmation that Horn prefers a 2 PF set over a true center than I will understand the current state of size.
Totally agree with you, Dan! I think the team desperately needs some size, and I think they know it, too whether they'd actually admit it or not.
That said, I don't know if your traditional "CENTER" is exactly what we need, or if we need size in general. I'd take an athletic, strong, shot blocking forward who can also bring something to the offensive end other than a back-down game. We'll see what the coaches end up doing, but I do know they are looking!
